Dear Member,
Welcome to the Board Leadership Forum!
As you know, this is a peer network for chairmen and lead independent directors of public and private companies to discuss critical issues to board leaders. As you join us for what we hope is a long and rewarding relationship, we encourage you to take an active role in the Forum.
Chairs and lead directors now have a more important role than ever. Activist shareholders, challenging economies, geopolitical changes, and other disparate forces have placed the traditional boardroom model under siege. Some say governance is at an inflection point.
A new collaboration between the Millstein Center for Global Markets and Corporate Ownership at Columbia Law School and Deloitte, the Board Leadership Forum is your network to not only discuss the pertinent issues you face today as a board leader, but also to build and strengthen cohesive, collaborative relationships with your peers.
Forum meetings will feature influential and thought-provoking guests, with discussions on the latest issues, research, trends, and perspectives on topics that are most relevant to you. The inaugural meeting on November 2, 2017 will focus on disruption and innovation and the role of boards with our special guest, Peter Diamandis, Executive Chairman of the XPRIZE Foundation. Forum members will select the issues and topics discussed at subsequent meetings.
This website, www.BoardLeadershipForum.net, will be central to the Forum, providing resources and information for members, including articles of interest, blog posts by and for you, and meeting details and summaries. The website will also provide you with opportunities to connect and discuss critical issues with your peers between meetings.
We look forward to working with you to confront the critical issues we face as board leaders and shape the future of governance and business, and we hope to see you at the inaugural meeting on June 14th.
Sincerely,
Mike Fucci & Bill McCracken
Co-Chairs of the Board Leadership Forum
